Let It Rip!

" Welcome to the world of Beyblade, where beys collide in the stadium alongside the passionate hearts of their bladers. This is the story of the fearless competitors who follow their dreams on an unforgettable journey to the top."

Opening narration

Beyblade Burst is the tertiary incarnation of the Beyblade franchise. It is comprised of a 2015 manga series, written by Hiro Morita, and six anime series, which began airing on TV Tokyo on Apr 4, 2016.

In the first flavor, Valt Aoi is a cheerful boy in the 5th Grade. Enthusiastic well-nigh Beyblade, he works hard to amend himself as a blader with his partner Bey, Valtryek. Valt'due south close friend Shu Kurenai, who is regarded equally a Beyblade genius, is a participant in the National Tournament and a member of the "Supreme Four" due to his high influence. Valt, inspired by Shu, sets his aim towards the National Tournament.

Season 2, Beyblade Burst Evolution, follows Valt as he is scouted by the Spanish squad BC Sol to participate in the World League, setting his sights on the International Blader'due south Loving cup and defeating the Large 5, the world's acme Bladers. Still, things get complicated one time Shu goes missing, and a mysterious Blader known only equally Red Center shows upwardly, adamant to destroy all standing in his way.

Season 3, Beyblade Burst Turbo, features a new protagonist in Aiger Akabane, whom subsequently witnessing Valt and his new Turbo Bey Wonder Valtyek in action, decides to forge his ain Turbo Bey, Z Achilles, and sets out on his ain path to rise through the ranks and take Valt'southward identify as the world's number one Blader.

Season iv, Beyblade Burst Rise, follows the adventures of new protagonist Dante Koryu, a fellow member of BC Sol under Valt's tutelage. Inspired by the forcefulness of Valt's new Gamma Bey, Sword Valtryek, Dante sets off to Nihon on his own journeying to deepen his bond with his own Gamma Bey, Ace Dragon, in order to achieve a like "Hyper-Flux" state with his Bey and be the best. This series was originally released as a web-only anime on Coro Coro and Takara Tomy'south Youtube channels.

Season v, Beyblade Burst Surge, centers around sibling duo Hikaru and Hyuga Hizashi, their newly created Lightning Beys Helios and Hyperion, and their journey to defeat Valt and all the Legendary Bladers they come across.

Season vi, Beyblade Flare-up QuadDrive, involves a young male child named Bel Daizora who calls himself the Night Prince, the strongest Blader in the world. He lives in a large mansion streaming his matches within against the many challengers who seek him out. Forth with his Destruction Belfyre, he sets out to prove how strong he is.

This series provides examples of:

  • The Ace:
    • The Supreme 4, consisting of Shu, Xander, Zac and Lui, the strongest bladers in Nihon. Wakiya is this to a lesser extent in the current tournaments.
    • In flavour 2, there's the Large 5, consisting of Free, Lui, Joshua, Xander, and Ren Wu.
    • Season iii introduces the Turbo four, four of the strongest Bladers of the next generation: Phi, Laban, Xavier, and Hyde. Meanwhile, Valt has kept his title of World Champion for two years upwardly until his battle with Aiger in episode 28. He wins the title back from Hyde several episodes afterwards.
    • Flavor four gives united states of america the Risen 3: Delta, Pheng, and Blindt. In add-on, after defeating Valt for his title at the end of season 3, Aiger has kept his Earth Champion title for nearly a year.
    • Flavor 5 mixes this upward by giving united states of america the Legendary Bladers, S-Tier Ranked bladers comprising of various characters throughout the previous seasons.
    • Season 6 sticks with the Legendary Bladers just special attention has been given to Rashad who is seen as Valt's successor.
  • Adult Fright:
    • Shu goes missing sometime effectually episode xv of Evolution and, for those who weren't around for the reveal in episode 36, he hasn't been seen since.
    • In episode 24 of Turbo, three children, one of which is royalty, have gone missing from the boat after deciding to race each other in the ocean. (Thankfully, all three are establish safe and sound on an uninhabited island in the same episode, merely that must take been a nightmare for the ones taking care of these children).
  • An Aesop:
    • A serial-wide example: Underestimating your opponents can be suicidal.
    • It's okay to exist proud of your achievements, just exist careful not to let them go to your head.
    • There is a such thing as beingness also confident. Lampshaded past Zac.
    • Winning isn't everything. It'south just every bit important to have fun as well.
    • You're not a failure just because of ane loss. You only demand to option yourself support and try again.
  • Alliterative Proper name: All of the characters' Dual Layer Beyblades follow this trend in the first flavour (i.e 5ictory 5altryek, Raging Roktavor, Storm Southpryzen, etc.)
    • Subverted in season 2, with bey names such as Genesis Valtryek, Kinetic Satomb, (etc.)
    • Judgement Joker from Ascension is currently the only Bey in the season that follows this naming scheme.
  • Alphabetical Theme Naming: The names of the prominent members of the bandage follow this trend.
  • Ambiguous Situation: It's unclear whether beys are controlled via launch style or by some supernatural means. Season i establishes that it'southward all in the launch class and that they only shout their special moves one time they successfully perform information technology. As the series goes on, information technology starts getting fuzzy as it doesn't show bladers tilting their launchers or moving differently to affect their movement patterns, but information technology is shown that a mis-launch even so causes malfunctions. When it comes to tag battles, Bladers are shown to have strangely accurate coordination with combined special moves, but all the same, evidence they don't have a complete influence on their behavior after the launch when they take to force their bey to aim for the heart or tornado ridge.
  • Animation Bump: Seen in season ii episode 36, especially the last few minutes. It helps convey how messed-upward Shu's psyche had become. It'due south also nowadays in episode 50 of Turbo to show just how high the stakes are in stopping Phi.
  • Creative License – Sports: The anime occasionally bends or breaks official tournament rules for the sake of narrative, tension and more exciting battles.
    • Nobody turns effectually to choose their parts in secret and announce they are ready
    • Standard matches are first to 3 points, while finals are first to 5. The anime has get-go to 2 and 3, respectively.
    • Running, standing (If the stadium is on the floor), and jumping are not allowed during launch. Ironically, by and large washed by Valt.
    • Irresolute or removing parts (Disc Frame, Spousal relationship Sword, and Infinite Sword and Shield) mid-battle is only allowed during the finals. During Evolution, we see bladers removing frames exterior of the finals and in Rise Dante and Delta frequently modify Layer Bases.
    • Shu and Delta shouldn't be allowed to change spin direction during their matches. Any mode change that involves disassembling a bey is not permitted, simply Shu'southward Zeta commuter is fair game.
    • Spying on others during gameplay is non allowed, still in the anime, battles are broadcasted and spectated live.
      • Unlike real life, multiple matches have identify at the aforementioned time. Due to the anime having simply i match at a time in that location's really no excuse non to observe your opponent.
    • Daigo, Suoh, Shu, Ghasem, and other bladers wouldn't be allowed to participate due to having banned or restricted parts. Obviously, the anime wouldn't ban specific parts.
    • In one case a bey leaves the arena, information technology is considered a ring-out, not when it hits the flooring.
  • Crawly, just Impractical:
    • Valt's Blitz Launch is powerful, merely if an opponent can deflect or dodge it, it's useless and drains Valtryek'southward stamina.
    • Dodging Wakiya'south Shield Crash and then counterattacking leaves Wyvron very vulnerable.
    • Special moves that unclick the Beyblade such as Dual Sabers, Final Guard and Dragon Crash. While they are incredibly powerful, they leave the bey vulnerable to bursting if not careful.
  • Barely Changed Dub Name: The English dub changes a few characters names to similar sounding (and still Japanese) names.
    • For example, Kensuke Midorikawa was shortened to "Ken Midori", Daina became "Daigo", Xhaka became "Xander", and Souta became "Ryota".
  • Battle Tops: It's Beyblade. Nosotros wouldn't accept a show without them.
  • Battle Aura: Everyone has one. They're too Colour-Coded for Your Convenience.
    • Valt = Blue
    • Shu = Cherry
    • Wakiya = Purple
    • Rantaro/Honcho = Yellowish/Gilt
    • Ken = Green
    • Daigo = Dark Majestic
    • Xander = Brick Red
  • Big Bad:
    • Flavour i doesn't have any, but Lui Shirosagi serves equally the closest one this series especially considering he is the Final Dominate of the flavour.
    • Season ii finally introduces a proper main antagonist in Theodore Glass aka Ashtem, who is the founder of the Ophidian Pit Organization and is the one responsible for Shu turning into Reddish Eye and later going on a bey-breaking spree.
    • Season 3 has Phi, whose primary goal in life is to show that he is the strongest blader. He'due south responsible for corrupting Aiger and after destroying his bey, making things even more than personal. After destroying his ain brother Hyde's Dread Hades, he merges it with his Phoenix to create Dread Phoenix and goes afterwards the toughest bladers in the world vowing to pause all of their beys.
    • Flavour 4 gives us Arthur Peregrine, who wants to take over the Wbba. and supersede information technology with his Inferno system. After he is defeated however, Gwyn Reynolds becomes the truthful Last Boss of the season.
    • Season five introduces Lain, however he'south not similar the previous antagonists. Lain is built upwards like one, but much similar Lui, isn't really that much of an antagonist force every bit he is merely power hungry and trying to satisfy his flare. The merely thing really stopping him from going off the deep end is his mentor/partner Shu who is actively trying to push button him abroad from this trope. His journeying through the series sees him learning about how to accept fun with blading and aqueduct his flare in that way.
    • Season half-dozen initially didn't have one as the story focused heavily on the rivalry betwixt Bel and Rashad; both would accept a case to exist the antagonist. Just in episode 40, Phenomeno Payne shows upwards to merits that spot. That proved to be a Red Herring as Phenomeno has a Heel–Face Turn after his interactions with Bel and we're dorsum to Bel and Rashad.
  • Bowwow in Sheep'due south Clothing: Daigo pulled this on Valt in episode 5, only to change his ways afterwards losing to him.
  • Brought to Yous past the Letter "S": All the prominent characters' Beyblades take letters molded into the designs of their Beys' Layers that correspond to the kickoff messages of their names.
    • Some characters also wear letter of the alphabet accessories every bit part of their wardrobe. For case, Valt has a V-shaped blueprint on his shirt, and Wakiya and Zac have "Due west" and "Z" shaped chugalug buckles, respectively.
  • Breather Episode: A relatively lighthearted episode will sometimes precede (or succeed) a darker, more intense episode. Especially prominent in the 2nd flavour onward.
    • Ane instance is Turbo #42 which features Aiger, the Wild Bey Gang, and the Beigoma Bey Lodge hanging out, sandwiched correct in between the action-packed #41 and #43.
  • Telephone call-Back:
    • The semi-finals of Evolution reverberate that of season i. Lui vs Shu, Valt vs an aristocracy yellow-haired Stamina user. Except Shu beats Lui and Valt doesn't defeat Costless (He moves on simply simply because Gratuitous is injured) which allows the promised match from season 1 to take identify.
    • In episode 2 of Turbo, Aiger's father doesn't want him to become a Blader out of fear, since Turbo is a powerful metallic for Beys and Aiger's resonance level is high; in some cases, Bladers can get consumed by their Beys, similar to what happened to Shu due to using Spryzen Requiem back in Evolution.
  • Catchphrase: Get Shoot! (Let It Rip! in the dub)
  • Mesomorphic Salsa Rule: A smash to pieces variant. The master gimmick of this series is the Burst mechanic. Beys are at present spring loaded and have four notches that hold the bey together, which come loose equally they're attacked. Once all iv are loose, the bey falls apart and causes a Burst Finish. In a meta sense, this allows for quicker matches, as Flare-up works as a point lucifer rather than a Best of 3 like previous serial.
  • Chromatic System: Shu (red), Ken (green), and Valt (blue). In Evolution Silas replaces Ken.
  • Color Motifs: See Battle Aureola in a higher place.
  • Costume Evolution: In Turbo, all the old characters (i.east Valt, Lui, Shu) from seasons 1 & two who take appeared in Turbo received new outfits.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Bladers who exhibit this get punished really difficult.
    • Zac and Rantaro focus purely on maintaining spin time without much variety bated from changing movement, thus they frequently go taken out by direct attacks.
    • Xander's strategy in almost every series he'southward in is to beast force his manner to victory; if that doesn't piece of work he makes Xcalius lose two clicks to actuate his Saber moves (which is why he commonly loses to a Flare-up).
    • Hyuga relies on brute-forcing his way to victory without whatsoever grade of strategy. Between him and Hikaru, he doesn't off-white besides every bit he does in solo matches.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: A recurring theme amid characters. Enough of Beys are based on demons and monsters that are evil nevertheless belong to kind and friendly characters. Notable examples are Doomscizor, who is based on the Grim Reaper all the same Daigo himself is very caring; Kerbeus, themed after Hell's guard dog Cerebus, is endemic by the gentle and soft-spoken Ken; and the brash but otherwise genuine Silas has Satan-based Satomb.
  • Death by Irony: Many Beyblade battles stop in ironic fashions.
    • Flavor ane:
      • Episode 34: Rantaro expected to beat Ken based on type advantage alone only for Ken to beat him by going on the offensive.
      • Wakiya revealed in episode 45 he created Hyper Shield Crash specifically to beat Shu, only to lose to Shu'due south Counter Suspension. The crack damage Spyrzen received from Hyper Shield Crash ultimately resulted in Spryzen's destruction in Shu's later battle with Lui.
      • Episode 48: Zac uses Solstice Boost to make Zeutron spin with the power of an attack type to get an advantage on Valtryek. Zeutron loses considering despite Valtryek nearly running out of stamina, its blades still managed to damage the Outburst layers enough for fifty-fifty a just a small touch to win.
    • Season 2:
      • Episode 31: Daigo figures out that Joshua's been throwing the kickoff matches and resolves to Burst him with a 2 point win. Daigo loses only afterwards Doomscizor comes and then close to giving Jinnius a Band-Out Stop that would've nabbed him the 2nd signal in round 2.
      • Episode 34: Joshua's Cyclone Counter uses Jinnius' Energy Layer to drop down to set on or counterattack a Bey which more often than non results in a Burst. Valt beats him by having Valtryek position itself so depression that Jinnius can't fifty-fifty achieve it, then spring upwards to Burst it.
      • Episode 35: Joshua chooses to defy his team and participate in the final battle for his own pride while Silas humbles himself plenty to inquire his squad to trust him to boxing in the final friction match and borrows Valt'south Vortex Frame. The outcome is a Kinectic Satomb Vortex Loop with even more than attack power made of Silas and Valt's powers combined. Joshua lost past the teamwork he refused to accept from the quondam member of his opposing squad.
      • Episode 42: Xander tries to defeat Silas again past focusing exclusively on set on and using Triple Saber. Silas wins by attacking with Cyclone Loop merely as Triple Saber is near to happen, deflecting Xcalius and making it Burst one time information technology hits the wall. To make it even more ironic: Silas'south first strategy of using Satomb'due south Roller Defence during the World League failed, while using it offensively defeated the same opponent.
      • Episode 44: Silas takes his match with Free super seriously, fifty-fifty going with a weaker launch to throw Drain Fafnir off in the second match. Free doesn't even endeavor and avoid Satomb. When Silas calls him out on it, Free allows Fafnir to lightly striking Satomb once and Satomb falls starting time earlier Fafnir does.
    • Season 3:
      • Episode 14-15: Aiger creates Z Swoop, a divebomb set on to defeat Lui like how the latter used a divebomb attack to defeat him in the 3 vs 1 lucifer, and Lui was warned by Laban to beware of falling objects. Lui however, uses his ground special move to overpower information technology. But then in the final round, Lui attempts to the verbal aforementioned divebomb finisher with Brutal Squall merely for Aiger to apply his new ground special move to overpower that.
      • Episode 31: Kyle tries to counter Geist Fafnir'south attack with an aeriform Chain Counter from Hazard Kerbeus later on spending the whole match trying to prevent Free from draining his bey'due south stamina. Free ends up countering his counter with Absorb Break and ends the match with it.
    • Season 4:
      • Episode 49: Back in episode 34, Gwyn warned Delta to work with Dante to get set up to take down Arthur otherwise, he would lose. In the final tag team match, Gwyn didn't do much to assist Arthur, while Delta sacrificed Devolos' energy to give information technology to Dante's bey, which resulted in Gwyn's offset defeat.
      • Episode 50: Arthur and Arman'south rematch has the former confident in his own attack power and pride that he will win, mocking the Victories for sending out their weakest fellow member. Arman defeats him by deflecting Arthur'due south ii almost powerful moves (Dark-Flux & Prime number Reboot) into the wall with Hurricane Defense, making Arthur vulnerable to a Flare-up with his own power.
  • Decoy Protagonist: Evey season begins its episode by introducing the viewers to the world of Beyblade. Occasionally information technology gives focus to certain bladers that have the looks of an anime protagonist. They aren't.
  • Defeating the Undefeatable: Downplayed, only Valt becomes the offset person to Burst Spryzen in episode 15, even though he didn't win the friction match.
  • Demoted to Extra: Hoji and Ken in Evolution.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?:
    • Minor characters have recolored generic beys from previous generations and random parts while major characters carry unique beys and combos, like to a Random Booster pack.
    • In season one, team battles consist of different beys and their bladers that fight and collectively score a point for the team equally if it were one three-point match. This bears similarities to deck building wherein a competitor brings multiple Beyblades that they can strategically bandy out to their advantage.
    • Daigo disqualifying himself in the Regional Tournament might remind some viewers of Deathscyther and Dark Deathscyther (Takara Tomy release of Doomscizor) getting banned in Japanese tournaments.
    • Bel's cosmos of development gears that copy the legends' beys is very common in existent life. Plenty of competitive bladers don't e'er use purely original combinations and use previous winners or other competitors equally references and change upward their parts according to what they accept.
  • Dub-Induced Plot Pigsty: Dynamite Battle is localized every bit QuadDrive and the arrangement is besides known as the Quad System. It doesn't explain how beys of this generation have only 2 modes, high and low, despite the word Quad indicating four. But rare select beys naturally take four interchangeable modes, notably Magma Ifrit who is from the QuadDrive toyline, whose system makes sense as tips take two modes making the full count 4.
  • Dub Proper noun Change: Several characters (and Beys) had their names changed in the English dub. A few examples are listed beneath:
    • Kensuke Midorikawa —> Ken Midori; Kaiser Kerbeus —> Male monarch Kerbeus
    • Daina —> Daigo; Night Deathscyther —> Nighttime Doomscizor
    • Kaiza "Xhaka" Xhakuenji —> Alexander "Xander" Shakadera; Xeno Xcalibur —> Xeno Xcalius
    • Gou Chagake —> Gabe Brunai; Gigant Gaia —> Giga Gaianon
  • Elite Iv:
    • The Supreme 4: Shu, Xander, Zac, and Lui.
    • Also, the Turbo 4: Phi, Xavier, Laban, and Hyde.
  • Empathic Weapon: Since it's Beyblade, information technology'south a given. Though it's Downplayed, compared to previous seasons. Skill is a more than deciding factor here.
  • Enemy Scan: Usually done by the token Mr. Exposition of each flavour using their tablet to explain a Bey'south gimmick/mechanics. Downplayed in the dub, where the Techno Babble is ordinarily replaced with generic comments on how strong the Bey is.
  • Excited Title! Two-Role Episode Name!: The majority of the episode titles, both Japanese and English, are written in this manner.
  • Family-Friendly Firearms:
    • In a sense, the English dub of Turbo has all mentions of Turbo Beyblades being forged from metallic notation the chief selling point/gimmick for Cho-Z Beys in the original Japanese removed, as well as the western toyline replacing the metal parts with safer metal plastic.
    • Beyblades whose special moves are a "slash" is dubbed as "whip" (e.g God Slash is chosen Genesis Whip in English). Slashes bespeak some form of sharpness but are omitted for the dub.
  • Finishing Move: All the master characters have at least one. For example, Valt has the Rush and Wink Launch, Shu has Counter Break and Upper Launch, Rantaro has Roktavor Zone, etc.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • In Evolution #27, the Infinity Bey Wakiya owns is a white and gold Storm Spryzen with a red driver. The verbal color scheme of Shu's soon-to-be Spryzen Requiem.
    • Turbo Achilles glowing golden during the climax of Aiger'due south concluding battle with Phi foreshadows the Hyper-Flux way featured in Rise.
    • Death Solomon doesn't accept the same initials as Basara, thus isn't his true Beyblade. He acquires Bahamut, which matches perfectly with Basara.
  • Four-Homo Band: The Supreme Four are made up of Shu, Lui, Xander and Zac.
  • 4-Temperament Ensemble: The Bey Club, before the improver of Shu and Wakiya. Valt is sanguine, Rantaro is choleric, Daigo is melancholic, and Ken is phlegmatic.
  • Free-Range Children: The bulk of the cast are kids, and are pretty much allowed to go wherever they want and do whatsoever they want.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus:
    • You can encounter beys unlock (the moving Forge Disc tabs that stick out of the top layer).
    • Yous can encounter if a character uses a Nuance Driver if you pay attention when a bey bursts or is disassembled (The top part would be red). The same is true for Metal Drivers.
    • In Evolution: If zoomed in closely at Genesis Valtryek, there is a groove where the Genesis Special fleck would go.
  • Gameplay and Story Integration: Ilya is incredibly cautious when battling. Her Grand.Os are preferably done in one strike (and against the ground), she attempts to outspin whenever she's outmatched, and she simply ever goes aggressive together with Rashad and Basara. Equally Magma Ifritor is a Hasbro bey, information technology has weak burst resistance and significantly less weight than a Takara Tomy bey, which is reflected on how Ilya battles with Magma Ifrit.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation:
    • When a bey battle is decided past stamina, even very jaggy and pointy beys gyre smoothly on their side. Beys without a polish and circular surface on their parts have poor Life-After-Death, the power to proceed spinning even when knocked over.
    • The Luinor line is recognized for its ability to burst beys in a single hitting, all the same in existent life, opposite-spin beys are recognized for their defensive abilities. Two beys rotating in opposite directions will not unlock due to the bursting mechanism designed for same-spin opponents. Information technology is true Lost Longinus (Takara Tomy) has great attack power, but its strength is in ring-outs while bursts are more mutual with left-spin beys. Fafnir's anime depiction of the tiresome burst does work as intended, even so.
    • Lightning beys are claimed to be larger and heavier than a Quad bey. They're quite similar in diameter actually and only in Chassis thickness are Dynamite Battle and QuadDrive toys smaller. When it comes to weight, Sparking and SpeedStorm beys are actually lighter considering their successors have more metal in them on average.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: Shu has one on his correct eye, inflicted by Lui in a flashback.
  • Golden Super Mode: A new power called "Gold Turbo (Hyper-Flux in the dub) is introduced in Ascension.
  • Hard Work Hardly Works: Downplayed. Shu is said to be a beyblade prodigy, just he trains only equally much, if not more, every bit the others do. Protagonist-wise, Valt trains harder than Gingka and Zyro, though not equally much as Takao.
  • Sick Male child: Daigo's petty brother Ryota is in the infirmary, though his status isn't serious. He's finally discharged in episode 37.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Ichika and Taka are confident they tin can win the Bey Carnival (which includes potentially defeating Arman, Dante, and Fumiya, but when upwards against Team Inferno comprised of Arthur, Gwyn, and Blindt, they're both quick to turn down the offer to battle as the third member for the Victories.
  • Lighter and Softer: This serial is more than child friendly than Shogun Steel and the Metal Saga. Although things in season 2 take a much darker turn in one case Cherry Eye comes into play. Turbo seems to be getting even darker than that, judging by Phi'southward current state.
  • Limit Pause: Hikaru, Hyuga and Lain's upgraded Beys have a Limit Pause system that goes off when their Bey'due south get closer to Bursting. This changes their Energy Layer to give them extra options and a devastating attack when the Limit Break goes off.
  • Express Wardrobe: Like most Shounen series, this ane is no exception.
  • Localized Name in a Not-Localized Setting: The English dub changes names at random, but all the characters still come up from their corresponding countries. Some characters go either westernized names, shortened versions of their Japanese names, or even entirely different Japanese names.
  • Logical Weakness:
    • Because the Flare-up series is more than grounded in reality, there are ways to counter whatsoever strategy implemented past an opponent, and the Rock–Newspaper–Scissors element of Beyblade is heavily implemented here. This includes any gimmick a Bey could possibly practise, every bit the correct strategy can negate the gimmick altogether, or worse, gear up them up for a Flare-up. Of grade, this isn't taking into account a counter-strategy which Bladers could easily use.
    • A universal ane is Bursting. Every Beyblade no matter how powerful will fall if unlocked enough. An incredibly powerful Assail type is typical jaggy and spiky, thus has many points to grip on. A Stamina or Defense bey typically will burst more on average than an Attack bey. Many skilled bladers take advantage of this by hit their opponent into a wall.
    • Bey arrangement upgrades are, by nature, supposed to be meliorate than previous generations. This typically means bladers will desire to upgrade their beys as well, meaning that to stay on top of the game, you will either need to suit or upgrade even further. That also doesn't mean that a previous generation'south parts aren't able to win and to expect a win just considering you have a improve bey is foolish.
  • Luminescent Chroma: Everyone does it when they're embarrassed, even Wakiya.
  • Perchance Magic, Possibly Mundane: Beys have the ability to glow, summon a beast or warrior, their bladers emit an aura and communicate with them and they all take enough power to produce shockwaves that brand the audience caryatid themselves. Information technology's never touched upon by any character and given any mention. The only ones that are noticed by other characters are talking to their beys and only the possessor is ever seen communicating with their respective beys.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: Nearly every Flavor does this to its master characters and at to the lowest degree ane other principal character. Oftentimes times, this follows the devastation of the previous Bey and using what'due south left of it to make the upgrade.
  • Monster of the Week: Prominently in seasons i to 3. Valt/Aiger has to defeat a new opponent every ane or two episodes. Those defeated either become an ally of the group, reappear in the final tournament arc, or are never seen again. Newer seasons don't introduce a new opponent for the protagonist to overcome as speedily, especially in Surge where the Legendary Bladers aren't defeated on the first endeavor and have to constantly be skipped or re-battled.
  • Mood Whiplash: Most present in season 3, with a dramatic and/or lamentable stop to the episode oftentimes existence followed by an upbeat/jazzy ED.
  • Mutual Impale: Valt and Daigo do this 11 times in episode 5.
  • Mythology: All of the characters Beys are based off things that nosotros can come across in the world of myth.
  • Never Say "Die": Averted in the original Japanese, as the characters have no problem maxim the discussion 'dead' and discussing the concept of loss, but played directly in the dub for censorship reasons.
  • Never Trust a Trailer: The final scene of the extended Japanese anime trailer for flavour 1 featured Valt and Shu, along with 5 other silhouettes that would later be the main bandage. However, 1 of them showed Rantaro with a different hairstyle than his current 1, and some other grapheme, which would subsequently be Xander, more closely resembled Lui. Furthermore, the trailer likewise showcased the Beys in their Single-Layer forms, (which were prominent in the manga) instead of the Dual Layers seen in the show's proper.
  • No Antagonist: The first season of Beyblade Burst is notable for having no Large Bad of the flavor. Lui is the closest thing to ane just he isn't evil, just a massive jerk.
  • Off-Model: The Sword and Digital Sword Launchers used by Xander are a lot bigger than they are in existent life. It is well-nigh noticeable when looking at the ripcord whose grip is as large as an adult-sized hand.
  • Once a Season: Starting Evolution, the master protagonist's Beyblade will break, and receive an upgrade earlier the terminal tournament arc. They volition besides defeat the Big Bad of the season.
  • One Steve Limit: The series tries to avoid this even when another character's bey inherits the name of a previous bey. During Surge though, both Rantaro and Ranjiro use Glide Roktavors with the just discerning feature being that their colour palettes are swapped. This is fabricated even stranger with their Brazilian cousin Ranzo who starts QuadDrive with however another Glide Roktavor before it gets destroyed and upgraded to Cyclone Ragnaruk.
    • QuadDrive sees both Valt and Rashad both use Dauntless Valtryek, though in this case Rashad basically used Valt's blueprint with his blessing with the distinction being that Rashad'south Valtryek is crimson. This stays the aforementioned when they both upgrade into Savior Valkyrie. This becomes a large graphic symbol moment for Rashad every bit he upgrades one extra fourth dimension to Greatest Raphael, a Balance Type and a Bey to better fit his style, meanwhile Valt instead continues his focus on Valkyrie past upgrading to Ultimate Valkyrie.
  • Only Sane Human: Shu, Daigo, Nika and Toko are this amongst the majority of the characters.
  • Perspective Flip: Flavor 6 focuses on Bel, who is a protagonist but fits the criteria met for previous antagonists. From Rashad'southward perspective, Bel is an arrogant and rude blader who must exist put in his place only deep down Bel really just wants to bask contesting, similar to Hyde. Bel owns Belfyre (Belial), a bey based on a demon while Rashad owns Valkyrie, a heroic Norse figure and subsequently Rafael, an archangel from biblical text.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Male child: Nika and Toko, who accept pinkish and blue hair, respectively.
  • Put on a Passenger vehicle: Ken in episode 21, since his family travels while performing puppet shows.
  • Quarter Hour Short: The first 3 seasons had their episodes in full 22-minute format, just starting with Rise, they've been cut downward to 11 minutes.
  • Rewatch Bonus: Watching Shu go Ruddy Centre in flavour 2 becomes more poignant now that the audition is enlightened of his obsession with getting stronger and defeating Lui from the very starting time.
  • Sixth Ranger: Shu and Wakiya join the Bey Club in episode 26.
    • Cuza joins BC Sol but before the start of the Earth League's second round.
  • Symbol Motif Clothing: Near of the main characters have symbols/designs on their outfits or accessories that represent their respective Beyblades.
  • Synchronization: Also known as "resonance", explained when Blader and Bey are i with each other and their bond is strong. Hinted at in the get-go 2 seasons, and a Central Theme of the third season. The 4th season uses it as a key to unlock a Bey's Super Mode. Season five introduces a new type of resonance called "Flare".
  • Summon Magic: When the characters are ready to launch their beys, their avatars manifest behind them.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Result: Happens quite oftentimes. Whenever a graphic symbol does something previously seen in the Original Series and Metallic Saga, it won't always work properly.
    • When both Beyblades are on their last breath, both Bladers give out a boxing cry consummate with an Aura and their Bey's Avatar ready to charge to motivate the final blow. They occasionally just stop spinning without an epic clash.
    • A Blader may shout out their special move, but the Bey won't behave that way if mis-launched.
    • Despite many characters having a great track record in tournaments and official games, scenes that prove them practicing have them lose quite often.
    • Beyblades in this series are more often than not plastic, dissimilar Metallic Saga. Whenever they break, it's never but a small chip or a potion of it removed; they get shattered into many pieces. Unlike Metal Saga, the battle is rarely over in simply 1 circular, and Beys have to suffer crashing into walls and opponents numerous times and then breakage is imminent.
    • When Complimentary returns to BC Sol in Evolution #38 after having left earlier in the flavour, most of the group are willing permit it slide and welcome him back without issue. Shasa nonetheless, spends ii-thirds of the episode holding a grudge against him for it, and it's only after the two have a battle that she finally forgives him. The reason why she was and so angry? Free may have ultimately had proficient intentions by motivating them to become a better team, but he withal abased them at a crucial moment during the European League without explaining why, resulting in their initial losing streak.
    • In Turbo #25: The bandage of Burst are usually polite to whatever adults they meet on their journeying. Yet, when Naru gets separated from Aiger and meets Raul, she immediately gets suspicious (The audience may know Raul as a friendly sometime man, just she doesn't). Later, Ranjiro, Tobisuke and Gumita see Raul walking with Naru and immediately accuse him of existence a kidnapper.
    • During QuadDrive, Bel defeats world-class Bladers because of a new Beyblade System he created. After more people upgrade their beys to the DB organization, his loss count starts to build up as his opponents no longer have outdated beys.
      • Bel proves that you lot don't demand to brand a new part or requite your Beyblade a consummate overhaul but for a new ability. All he makes is a small-scale attachment.
    • Hikaru and Hyuga accept some of the worst solo records out of all the protagonists in their focus flavour. Their debut had them every bit rookie bladers facing off against seasoned bladers using a bey arrangement unfamiliar to them.
      • Their Limit Breaker system helps solve the primal issue of their lack of high level feel. They are given one extra attack upon activating Limit Interruption and changes their Energy Layer to improve on their preferred styles. Because they are always pushed into a corner, having a little extra something while they are losing helps solve the issue.
      • The brothers also don't commencement winning until the Ultimate Tag Series tournament, but that's due to the fact that Tag Battles are fought to the last bey spinning. They don't take to burst to merits a victory and most of the time they cease upwards ringing out their opponents.
    • The opposite is true for Lain who has an incredible blading record as he is non only a blading prodigy, he's personally trained by Shu as a member of the Raging Bulls. A prodigy trained past one of the best on ane of the strongest teams is leap to perform well.
      • This manages to echo itself with Rashad, who is also a prodigy trained by Valt as a member of BC Sol. Because of this, he also has one of the strongest records in his flavour.
    • In Rising #16, Tango has to sell his vases to afford plane tickets. Valt and Aiger had contact with BC Sol (a professional club) to cover their travel expenses while the Victories is technically just some other pocket-sized self-made ane.
  • Techno Blubbering: In the original Japanese dub, parts and functions are properly explained. In the dub, the functions and gimmicks are given elementary, sometimes vague, explanations. None of the parts are named aside from Energy Layers, but abilities and special moves are named afterward them (for example, Luinor's Lost Screw is named after Lost Luinor'southward Screw Commuter). This can also cause some Dub-Induced Plot Holes such as Sword Valtryek being described as having a lower centre of gravity, not having off-centered balance. This also includes inconsistencies with the toyline like when Ranzo mentioned his Roktavor's tip being costless-spinning, which is true for the Never Driver only not for the QuadDrive armor tip.

English: Rantaro: Roktavor'southward disc has a gravity feature that keeps information technology spinning no thing what!

Japanese (Translated): Rantaro: The heavy weight of Ragnaruk'due south Gravity Disc allows information technology to endure whatsoever attack!

  • The Team:
    • Valt starts upwards the Bey Club at Beigoma University, and though the principal temporarily declares it okay, they still need 5 members. Past episode 26, it's official.
    • Xander has his own squad, Team Sword Flames.
  • 3 Plus Two: In episode 26, Shu and Wakiya decided to bring together the Bey Social club.
  • Time Skip:
    • The 3rd flavor of Outburst, Turbo, takes place 2 years after Evolution.
    • The 4th flavour, Rise, is set 1 year after the events of Turbo.
  • Token Mini-Moe: Nika and Toko. Afterwards, Kit Lopez and Honey Guten in Evolution, and Naru Akabane in Turbo.
  • Tournament Arc: I bet you lot didn't expect that.
  • Totally Radical: The dub is littered with this kind of dialogue. Information technology seems to have faded away past Turbo.
  • Truth in Television:
    • The nature of a toy-based anime demonstrates play features in the evidence with a lilliputian bit of exaggeration. Rarely, in that location are features that are but every bit expert as they were portrayed on TV.
      • Lost Luinor has never lost a lucifer and its Takara Tomy release is the best stock combo bey in the dual layer toyline.
      • Fafnir and Spryzen's power to spin steal from opposite spinning beys piece of work just as well as in real life.
      • Revive and Dread Phoenix's armor is every bit good as the anime, information technology is known for being able to destabilize beys and ruin intended movement patterns.
      • Turbo Spryzen, Valtryek, and Achilles are some of the all-time layers of their generation due to a circular design, tight locks and burst prevention. Reflected how they're wielded by the Top 3 bladers in the earth.
      • In Surge, meridian-tier bladers have a lot more than losses and bottom bladers gain a lot more wins due to the Sparking series having very competitive parts from everyone's beys.
    • It might seem odd to some viewers that Aiger enrolled in Beigoma University just to be in the Bey Club. But it'south not unheard of for students to enroll in schools for the sole reason to bring together their sports teams.
  • The Unfought: Until the Surface area Selection Tournament, Orochi Ginba was the simply rival Valt hadn't faced in the Regional Tournament.
  • Ii Shorts: Because of the episodes now being 11 minutes long as of Ascent, the dub airs two episodes together to make 26 22-minute episodes.
  • Uncatty Resemblance: The seasons' protagonists behave hit resemblances to their Beyblades in terms of both color and vesture.
    • Valt wears a belong over his hoodie, like how Valtryek is armored and wearing a breastplate.
    • Aiger's pilus is tied back like the decals of a Trojan helmet.
    • Dante's hair and jacket have patterns resembling dragon scales.
    • Hyuga and Hikaru have hair resembling their bey's contact points, and also flare upwardly similar fire similar to how their beys are themed later the sun.
    • Bel dresses like a demon/vampire due to Belfyre beingness based of Belial, an Ars Goetia demon.
  • Unknown Rival: Wakiya sees Shu as this, but Shu is more focused on Valt equally a rival.
  • Song Noise: Going along with Younger Than They Await below, many of the characters accept rather deep voices for 11 year old kids in the English dub.
  • Who Names Their Kid "Dude"?: Drum, Pot, and Bullheaded don't sound like very flattering names, practice they?
  • Wrecked Weapon: In the serial, the Beys tin can break apart after overuse or if the opponent deals an farthermost amount of damage to the Bey. This is Phi's signature move ultimately being well known for destroying Beys. This often followed by some serious Character Development too as taking the destroyed Bey and making their Mid-Season Upgrade with it.
  • You Gotta Take Bluish Hair: Valt's hair is a dark blue, Nika's is pink, and Toko'southward is a low-cal blue.
  • Younger Than They Look: Some characters have the appearances of teenagers/young adults, just are actually eleven years old. Rantaro, Wakiya, Ken, and Xander are some of the near prominent examples.
